Hi jimstill,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I understand you are getting a low memory message when trying to print from the Mac.
I will be happy to help you.
The printer's memory is full which is why your are receiving this error message.
Try turning your printer off and on again. This should clear the memory from the printer.
When you send print jobs, try sending them in smaller sizes.
Every so often, power cycle your printer to clear the memory and you should not have this problem in the future.
You might have to do a power reset.
With the printer still turned on, disconnect the power cable from the back of the printer.
Then disconnect the power cable from the wall outlet.
Wait 10 seconds and reconnect the power cable back to the wall outlet first, then the back of the printer and power it on again.
Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (don't use a power hub or a surge protector)
I would update the printer's firmware. HP LaserJet Pro 200 color Printer M251nw Drivers.
Select your operating system, click next, click the link for firmware.
Hope this helps.
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.
Have a great day!

Hi jimstill,
Thanks for providing that information.
I would turn the IPV6 off and turn the Archive printing on from the printer's display to see if this will help resolve the issue printing over the network.
Touch the setup icon, (wrench) select services, then archive printing and turn it on.
Then touch the setup icon, go to network setup, network services and turn off the IPV6.
Update the printer's firmware and set up a Static IP address may help also.
Printer Does Not Maintain a Wireless Connection. Disregard the title.
Under Solution one: Restore the wireless connection please go to
Step two: Update the printer.
Then go to Solution two: Assign the printer an automatic static IP address.
Please let me know if this resolved the issue.
Thank You.

I'm getting the same message and have tried all solutions in this thread. I'm trying to print a 4.1 MB pdf document and get the Low memory message. I JUST took this out of the box today, and it's the second one I've purchased in the last month. (The other I had to return due to color printing issues).
Needless to say, I am extremely frustrated.

Hi @klauterbach ,
I am sorry to hear that you are having issue with another Laserjet Pro200 M251nw printer.
If you are on a Windows I have other steps for changing the size of memory through the print driver, but I haven't found any settings like that on a Mac.
It could be the file size, try another file to see if you have the same results.
When you print a document that contains lots of raster data, the size of the Enhanced Metafile (EMF) spool file may become very large. Files such as Adobe .pdf files or Microsoft Word .doc/.docx documents may contain lots of raster data. Adobe .pdf files and Word .doc/.docx documents that contain gradients are even more likely to contain lots of raster data. For example, a .pdf file of 1 megabyte (MB) may generate an EMF spool file of 500 MB.
Try printing the PDF as a image. Print as image.
Try another application to print the PDF. (Preview, Adobe Reader)
Try printing one page from the printer's manual. LASERJET PRO 200 COLOR.
This way we will know if it is a issue with the previous PDF documents.
If you are still having issues, try the following:
Repair the Disk Permissions on the Mac:
Close all applications.
On the Apple menu bar, click Go, click Applications and then click Utilities.
Double-click Disk Utility.
Highlight your hard drive/partition on the left.
Click Verify and then Repair Disk Permissions.
Restart the computer..
Reset the Printing System:
Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer removed can be re-added later by clicking the plus (+) symbol.
Click the Apple icon and then click System Preferences.
Click Printers & Scanners.
Right-click (or Ctrl +click) in the left white side panel, then click Reset printing system.
Click OK to confirm the reset.
Type the correct Name and Password.
Click OK to reset the printing system.
Then click the + sign to add the driver, highlight the printer. (you might have to click the drop down to select the printer's name) Then click on the Add button.
Try printing the PDF again.
If the printer is networked, connect the USB cable to see if you have the same results. The previous poster, mentioned that it printed the PDF through the USB connection. Then we can try and figure out what is causing this.
Did you setup a Static IP for the printer?
Please let me know the results.
Thank You.

Hi @JackKalish ,
I see that you are also getting a low memory message. I can help you, but I will need some more information.
If you tried the steps from the previous posts and are still having issues, please provide in detail the results and what you have tried so far, so we figure this out.
What operating system are you using?
Mac OS X: How Do I Find Which Mac OS X Version Is on My Computer?
How to Find the Windows Edition and Version on Your Computer.
How is the printer connected? (USB/Ethernet/Wireless)
Have a nice day!
Thank You.
