I just bought a new HP 8620.  When doing a copy and paste into Word, everything is shown in the print preview.  However, part of the image, usually the bottom, is not printed.

Hi @nedamirakl,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that your Word Document print preview shows the entire pasted image, but prints only part of image, with your HP Officejet 8620. I am happy to help!

Just a few questions for starters, if you do not mind: What Operating System are you using? Windows or Mac? What version? If you do not know the Operating System you are using, please visit this website. Whatsmyos.

Are you able to make copies of a photo? Copy Text or Mixed Documents.

What happens if you try printing the photo from another program other than Word?

If you are using Windows, I would recommend to try our HP Print and Scan Doctor, and please let me know what happens!

Hope to hear from you soon! Smiley Happy

I am using WIndows 7.  I did try the Print and Scan doctor with no results.  I just tried a copy and paste into Excel instead of Word.  Same results -- the bottom was not printed.

Hi nedamirakl,

Thank you for your response!

Just out of curiosity, what happens if you try printing the image using Windows Photo Viewer?

I am wondering if it is a possible setting with Microsoft Office, that needs to be changed...

Thanks again, and hope to hear from you soon! :generic:

I do not have Photo Viewer, but am downloading it now.  I tried pasting to Paint.  When I printed from Paint, the entire image printed, so you may be on to something with it being "Office" related.  However, I have no idea what it may be.  All my previous HP printers have worked with it.  Any suggestions to try?

Hi nedamirakl,

Thank you for your response!

I had a feeling it might have something to do with Microsoft Office. After a search, I had found this post, Word prints only partial document, leaves off bottom portion, that might have an answer for you. If not, then I would suggest contacting Microsoft Office Support.

Hope this helps! :generic:

Nothing has changed with my Office.  The only thing that changed is that I just bought a new HP printer, OfficeJet Pro 8620.  I previously have an OfficeJet L7680, and never had this problem with it.  That would lead me to believe it is something different with the new printer.

Hi nedamirakl,

Thank you for your response!

If you copy a photo, does it print the whole picture? Copy Text or Mixed Documents.

After some further searching, I would recommend to try the shrink to fit option in Word, Shrink to Fit in Word 2010 and Word 2013.

If that does not work, please try the following:

  1. Uninstall the software. Uninstalling the Printer Software.
  2. Clean boot the computer. How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
  3. Re-install the software using the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.

Hope this helps, and have a nice day! Smiley Happy

I tried those things with no success.

A photo is also cut off when copy and pasted from the internet.

Hi nedamirakl,

Sorry, just wanted to be clear on something, have you tried making a black and white copy of a photo through the front panel of your printer? Meaning, placing a photo on the scanner glass, and making a copy. If so, does it print the whole photo, or is it also printing a partial image?

Sorry for my confusion, just want to make sure the printer's hardware is working properly on it's own.

Hope to hear from you soon! :generic:
