When I finished scanning a picture and try to email it , the default is to "outlook Express" which I don't use.  How do I change the default setting?

Hello budhud

What operating system are you using and what printer? Do you have another email client you use? Also, have you read through this thread? I have explained quite a few different things about how Scan to email works for the Deskjet 3050A and how to connect your email account to Windows Live Mail.

We have an HP Photosmart Plus printer and Windows XP Home Edition using Comcast/Infinity .  When I scan  picture and try to sent it via email, the email setting is "Outlook Express" which neither we nor our email friends use.  So how do we change the setting from Outlook Express.

Hello budhud

What email do you use (gmail, yahoo, live, etc.)? Do you have a specific client you use on your computer or do you access it from a web page? Even if you don't use it is Outlook Express installed on your computer?

We sign in at "Comcast.net".  Most of our friends use the same although a few use yahoo.

Hello budhud

In order to scan to email you need to setup a mail client on your machine. The default mail client on XP is Outlook Express.

You can add your comcast email to Outlook Express. The link below is from comcast's website with instructions to add your account..

Hi michpole. I am not sure exactly what you are asking. Are you trying to print or scan? Are you scanning with a button from the printer or from the HP Software? What version of Windows do you have?
