hp printer 8610 and 8620- automatic duplex scan

Hi. I would like to ask if hp officejet 8610 and 8620 can perform automatic duplex scan?

I know that 8600 can do it but not sure about this.

Hi @raishi  Happy Friday!

Both the 8610 and the 8620 can duplex scan. I could not find a how to document specific to scanning but here is one about copying 2 sided; Copy Text or Mixed Documents.

The copy mechanism and scan mechanism are the same components, thus if you can copy 2 sided you can indeed scan 2 sided!

Please note: You can not scan legal size documents 2 sided, only letter and maybe A4 (I don't remember  )

EDIT: 8610 does not have the duplex option via the document feeder, thus it can not auto duplex scan or copy, the 8620 and 8630 do have the option.    (July 20, 2015)

Base on the factsheet,

it states that "Scan speed Duplex: Up to 6 ipm (200 ppi, b&w), up to 6 ipm (200 ppi, color)"

However, after installing the printer and the software, I could not find an option to scan duplex on both the printer control panel and software.I read through the instruction manual but could not find it as well

Please advise how to scan duplex using feeder

Hi @raishi 

Can you please let me know what operating system and which version you have, Mac or Windows?  I would like to install the software on the same operating system so that I can use the software and find the option. I will then be able to send you a screenshot to help you navigate to the correct setting.

I using 2 OS - window and Mac

For windows, I manage to ressolve it and scan duplex

For macs, Im not able to scan duplex.

My opearating system is OSX vers 10.9.4

In the example below I used the 8600 driver, but it is the updated 8620 software. When you select Document feeder next to Source, you will see Scan both sides of page under 'More options'.  You may not see any of these options unless you click on the arrow on the far top right hand side. This arrow expends the options available.

I have the 8610 running on Windows. I have selected it to scan both sides, but it is asking me to manually reload the paper for the second side. Is this the only option?

Can you post a screenshot of your scan settings to I can take a look and help determine why this is happening?

If you are selecting for the printer to scan both sides, it should automatically scan both sides.

I too am unable to duplex scan with my 8610.  the OJP8500 it replaced had an option on the touch screen for duplex scanning.  there is none with this 8610, only color/bw and resolution.

I have done some additional research and it appears the 8610/8620 do not have the 2 sided ADF feature, only the 8630 of that series does.
