I have an All-in-One 7280, Mac running 10.7.4.The scanner suddenly doe not respond to the computer. I have:
restarted computer, printer/scanner/ network, reinstalled software. Device works fine in every other way; will scan and print, but not send to computer. Though using it with Preview has been a little 'fussy' in the past, it is not responding at all now. could this be new interference from a neighbor's new network? any suggestions?

Hi,
The Photosmart C7280 provided with Print, Fax and Scan drivers via Apple Software Update.
The provided software solution does not provide scanning from the front panel capabilities, which is the non-functional feature as much as I can figure from your notes (will scan and print, but not send to computer), otherwise please clarify.
Make sure to update the latest drivers by clicking the Apple icon and then click Software Update. Make sure to select any listed HP Update and try scanning using any of the methods below:

For any problem, please clarify the exact error message or behavior you may see.

Shlomi

Hello bozonomous,
I would like to be able to assist you with the error message Scanner not available, but I would need to ask you a couple of things first.
1) What is the model number of your printer?
'Guide to finding your product number'
2) Are you running Mac or Windows?
'Which Windows operating system am I running?'
'Finding your OS X version and build information'
3) What is the version of Windows or Mac OS are you running?
4) Are you using the HP software when you get this error message, or scanning from the front of the printer?
5) How is the printer connected to your computer? (ie. wireless, wired, USB).
Thank you.
