When you try installing and HP LaserJet P1005 printer the installation fails with an error message or ends without any error message but does not prompt to connect the printer, try following the solution below.
Visit HP.com to download the latest drivers for your printer, be sure to use the current drivers to match your operating system locale.
At the bottom of the page, click the Flag icon and select the country matches your operating system language:
Once downloading and launching the installation file, follow the steps on screen to complete the installation, if the problem is resolved you do not need to follow the next steps.
