HP D7360 photosmart printer
Microsoft Windows XP

Error code 0xc18a0106 displayed.  All new cartridges installed with same results.  Followed step-by-step hp posted power off and on reset procedures to no avail. Store won't take back opened ink cartridges.  Nearly $70 wasted.  There has to be another way to reset the printer.

@unhappyWH,

Thanks for engaging in HP support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips! I understand you are getting 0x error message on your HP photosmart printer. Don't worry we'll work together to help you resolve this issue.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Have you checked for any obstructions inside the printer?

Are you able to move the carriage freely?

In the meantime, let's try these steps here:

Perform a Hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.

Follow the steps below to resolve this issue.

  1. Press the On button to turn the printer off.

  2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.

  3. Remove all the ink cartridges.

  4. Wait two minutes.

  5. Plug the power cord into the back of the printer.

  6. Press the On button to turn the printer on.

  7. Install the ink cartridges when prompted.

If the error code does not display, the issue is resolved.

If the error codes still display on the front panel, service the printer.

Answering to your question regarding the Ink cartridges, I would personally suggest you contact our HP phone support for further assistance.
