Officejet Pro 7740
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

We typically use 3-hole pre punched computer paper in our printer.  With the HP Officejet Pro 7740, the paper is loaded so when you print single-sided, the paper is printed with the holes on the left side but when you print 2-sided, the holes are on the wrong side.  Are there any paper set up for printing duplex.  We have tried to reverse the print but it does not work with odd amount of pages.  Suggestions?

Hello,

I am not sure if I fully understand your issue.

In the printer properties, try selecting Flip on Short Edge option in Print on Both Sides.

Hope this helps.

I have this issue too. Clearly you don't understand the problem. The problem is not with which edge is being bound. The problem is that the single-side images are printed upside down relative to the two-sided images. One possible solution would be for the printer to print the single-sided images "upside down."   From what I can tell there is no option to do this.

Could HP update the driver to do this?

This works correctly on my HP X476dw printer.

I decided to react instead of wondering why this happens and waiting for a fix.  I bought a 3 hole punch and use regular paper which saves a great deal of money in the long run.   Problem solved!

That's a rather obvious solution, but it doesn't scale when you print 500+ pages a day.

My hole punch handles 40 sheets at a time (there are professional models that handle a larger capacity, up to 100).   I save $5.00 buying a package of regular paper as opposed to pre-punched so the extra few minutes of hole punching more than pays for itself.   At any rate, this seems like the best solution until some fix is released.

I had the same problem, I figured that if the total number of pages are even, the holes need to on the left and if odd the holes need to be on the right when they are in the paper tray.
