I have recently inherited an HP Photosmart 7520. I was really pleased when I got it, easy set up and it was soon up and running on my home network. Then the black ink cartridge ran out.
I looked inside the printer and saw a sticker that says Product No CZ045B and HP Ink Cartridge 364. I went online and ordered a Black 364 XL thinking that would be my best option. However, having received it, it doesn't fit. Foolishly, I put this down to a bad experience and ordered a standard 364. However, that doesn't fit either despite the fact that the packaging on both cartridges states that they are suitable for a Photosmart 7520!
Having browsed the forum, it would appear that there are two types of 364, those with a bowtie on them and those with a pentagon. I am, however, at a lose as to how to decipher which one I am buying online or in my local Staples (who were at a loss!). Is this some kind of pot luck game that HP have invented rather like trading cards where you have to buy 10 cartridges before you find the golden one that actually fits?
I would love to know if there is a sensible solution as having already dropped £20 on entierly useless cartridges I can see that I would have been better buying a new printer from someone else...
Thanks.

Hi,
Your printer has 2 (yes TWO) black ink cartridges
(a) The narrower one called Photo ink cartridge which has a camera symbol on it.
(b) The fatter one called Black ink cartridge,
Black and Photo cartridges are not interchangeable. Photo cartridges cannot be substituted for Black cartridges.
Update: CZ045B is for the printer itself, each color has a different code
