This forum is getting to be a waste of my time and probably others. I have been following issues about HP blocking 3rd party toner cartridges from being used. People have offered best effort solutions resulting in no solution at all. I have also seen and followed Class Action Suits that are won in a court of law whereas a person can submit a claim. But how does this fix the problem if HP pays, and continues to block 3rd party products from being used? As a customer and owner of a product, I should not be forced to use genuine high-priced products. Especially during the past quarantine year, when spending cost is being guarded, employment has become scarce, and people are using home technology for job survival.
I guess solutions, in this case, will never be resolved, especially when the HP logo sits on this forum guarding their interest, and deleting those not in their favor.

To address declining supply revenue, HP, in October and November 2020, resorted to pushing out firmware updates to its internet-connected printers that block the use of third-party ink cartridges and toner, the case says.

@Ikeman1, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I understand your concern. HP does not recommend the use of non-HP ink cartridges. It may or may not work. HP cannot guarantee its functionality.

As a veteran user of HP products, I have not had any issues using 3rd party ink supplies. My real concern and others are, "why during the midst of the pandemic do HP force (without ownership consent) a block by slipping in a malate hidden in a firmware update, especially when people are using their personal equipment from home to cut cost? Their tactic is ultimately clear, and that is to continue to keep up their profit margin up, and price hack the consumer.

It is clear that you are an HP representative. In my opinion, and others, the best solution for HP is to unblock this, and stop the monopoly. The consumer have a right to use any supporting products after making that initial purchase. In other words, get off the greed ship, and stop playing God.
