4155e Ican not print from desktop Window10 or mobile phone wireless but I can print from printer

I can not print from my printer using my desktop computer or my mobile device wireless BUT if I put a document in the scan I can print from the printer itself ....what is going on????

The "printer only" function on the printer itself is perhaps a Copy feature - plain and simple: place paper and click Copy.

If you are printing documents and photo files from the printer using only the printer, I'm not aware of how this works with the DeskJet series -- the printer lacks a text-input capable control panel.  ??

Printing documents or photos, scanning, and even using Shortcuts generally involves using the printer connected to your network and the appropriate application or software to open, view, configure, and submit the job to the printer.

I suspect your printer is not connected to your network or the printer is not connecting with your application / software programs.

Using a supported phone > Print / scan using HP Smart Mobile application

• The HP Smart app must be installed on the device (phone)
• Both devices (printer and phone) should be on the same network
• You must be signed into the HP Smart app
• If using Shortcuts, you must be signed into the Cloud storage service you are using
• The connection must recognize the printer - that is the printer must be signed into the network using the Wireless network password for the SSID named network the printer is using to connect to the frequency you are using (2.4GHz or 5GHz)

Using Windows and the HP Smart Windows application

• The HP Smart app must be installed on the device (phone)
• Both devices (printer and phone) should be on the same network
• You must be signed into the HP Smart app to access most of the features of the printer
• If using Shortcuts, you must be signed into the Cloud storage service you are using
• The connection must recognize the printer - that is the printer must be signed into the network using the Wireless network password for the SSID named network the printer is using to connect to the frequency you are using (2.4GHz or 5GHz)

NOTE

In general, if you are not using Wi-Fi Direct, toggle the Wi-Fi Direct setting to OFF on the printer.

NOTES: 

• Read the Terms of Use document to understand the conditions of using HP Smart products.  For example, in the HP Smart application, find the link in HP Smart > Settings (gear) > About > Click on the link for Terms of Use
• Read FAQ - including - What are the requirements to set up a printer using the HP Smart app?
• If using VPN >>Disconnect from Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection before downloading.
• Turn on Wi-Fi on your computer or mobile device and connect to your network. If the computer is connected to the network with an Ethernet cable, temporarily disconnect the cable and use the Wi-Fi connection during the setup.

• HP Smart requires that you sign into the application using your HP Account credentials.
• When working through a Browser to access HP Smart, be sure you have Cookies enabled.  If cookies are enabled and you are having trouble, clear Cache and Cookies.   And / Or … Try a different Browser – assign that Browser as the Default. (Note:  Chrome not working?  Use / Assign a different default Browser.)
• Where possible, HP Smart benefits (likes) having the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software installed.  For example, full driver provides access to Shortcuts and Printing Preferences.
• “Share” to email – Before using Share, add your sender email address to the Windows Mail application

• Document includes the HP Smart application download links for Windows and Mobile devices, plus an FAQ section to assist with questions / issues.
