I have had this HP ENVY 4512 printer for just over a year. It has been working just fine. I’ve always used official HP ink cartridges. It has never jammed or had any mechanical issues. The printer stopped printing. There was no notification for low ink, but the BLACK indicator looked below 10%, so I purchased/installed new 63XL cartridges. It still doesn’t print. I get a report “alignment recommended” but the alignment page print is incomplete and not recognized by the scanner. On that page, I only see the top-most portion of letters in black text;  the red “important” graphic and text prints looks perfect; and the blue squares have sharp corners and seem to have the proper gradients. I reset the unit twice and performed the “level 2” deep cleaning with no luck. I cleaned the printer heads with isopropyl alcohol- that didn’t work. HELP!!

If you have tried steps from the document HP Printers - Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues and still have issues, it could be a hardware failure.
