I have an HP Color LaserJet CP4525DN. After every other print job, I receive an error code of 49.FF03 Device Failure when I send a second print job, the paper will jam and the error comes up. My firmware is updated. I am directly connected to my computer via a USB cable (new). I have Windows 10 64-bit. I am using HP OEM toner. I get this error no matter what program I print from (excel, word, or adobe acrobat pro). Whether it's a single page, multiply pages, or duplex. It is pretty consistent after every other print job.

Most 49 errors are caused by failure to keep the firmware of the printer up to date. Go to support.hp.com and download the current firmware and install it. The easy update is a self installing utility that only requires that you run it from a PC that is configured to print to the printer. In some cases it might be necessary to ensure that there are no stale print jobs in the print queues of any computers to ensure that the error does not occur while you are updating.
