HP ffice et 8035e
I am trying for the first time to print a 4x6 photo and every time I try to print I get the message mismatched paper. I have selected 4x6 photo paper several times and I still get that error. I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong. Please Help.

Hi @StrangeJ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're having trouble getting your HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e to recognize the 4x6 photo paper correctly. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
Check Paper Settings:
- In the Printer Settings:
- Go to the printer's control panel.
- Navigate to Settings > Print Settings > Paper.
- Ensure that the paper size is set to 4x6 inches and that the type is set to Photo Paper.
- In the Printing Software:
- When you select Print from your computer, ensure the print settings in your software (like Photos or any editing software) are also set to 4x6 and photo paper type.
Verify Paper Loaded Correctly:
- Make sure that the 4x6 photo paper is loaded correctly in the tray:
- Use the correct tray: The OfficeJet Pro 8035e typically has a main input tray that can hold various sizes of paper. Ensure that the photo paper is placed in the appropriate tray (often the main tray).
- Adjust the paper guides: Ensure the paper guides are snug against the edges of the photo paper, but not too tight.
Use Recommended Paper:
- Check that you are using HP's recommended photo paper for your printer model, as non-HP paper may not be recognized properly.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware:
- Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
- Check for any available updates for your printer.
Restart Printer and Computer:
- Sometimes, simply restarting both your printer and your computer can resolve connectivity or settings issues.
Reinstall Printer Drivers:
- If the issue persists, you may want to uninstall and then reinstall the printer drivers:
- Go to the HP Support website, download the latest drivers for your model, and follow the installation instructions.
Print a Test Page:
- Try printing a test page or a different document to see if the printer works properly with regular paper. This can help isolate whether the issue is specific to the photo paper.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
