Hi KULOOMBA

Check Print Queue

  • Open the print queue to see if there are any print jobs stuck or pending.
    • Go to the Control Panel on Windows:
      • Navigate to "Devices and Printers".
      • Right-click on your HP LaserJet 5100 and select "See what's printing".
      • Cancel any pending jobs to see if that clears the "Busy" status.

Restart Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Wait a few minutes before plugging it back in and turning it on.
  • This can reset the printer and clear any errors.

Verify Connections

  • Ensure all cables connected to the printer are secure.
  • If using a USB connection, verify that the connection between the printer and computer is solid.
  • For network connections, ensure the printer is correctly connected to the network.

Update Drivers

  • Make sure your printer drivers are up-to-date. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website:
    • Go to HP Support.
    • Search for your printer model (HP LaserJet 5100) and download the latest drivers.

Manual and Printer Settings

  • Consult the printer’s user manual for specific information about the "Busy" message and troubleshooting steps.
  • Ensure the printer is not undergoing any automatic maintenance or cleaning processes.

Additional Steps

  • Check if the printer is set to offline mode accidentally; you can change this setting from the print queue window.
  • Ensure no network issues: If the printer is on a network, make sure there are no network problems that might be causing the printer to show as busy.

I hope the above is helpful
