If your HP ENVY 5530 printer is not printing the alignment page correctly, follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

Verify the Ink Cartridge

Check Ink Levels:

• From the printer's control panel home screen, touch the Ink icon to display the estimated ink levels. Ensure that none of the cartridges are low or empty.
• Replace any low or empty cartridges with genuine HP cartridges.

Reset the Printer:

• Turn off the printer, wait a few seconds, and then turn it back on.

Clean the Printhead

1. Automatic Printhead Cleaning:
   • On the printer control panel, touch the Settings icon and then touch Tools.
   • Select Clean Printhead. The printer will clean the printheads and print a test page.
   • If the print quality is still poor, repeat the cleaning process a few times.

Load Plain White Paper

Check the Paper Type:

• Make sure you are using clean, white, plain paper.

Load the Paper Correctly:

• Pull out the paper tray, slide the paper-width guides outward, and then remove any previously loaded media.
• Insert a stack of plain white paper into the paper tray with the print side down and short edge forward.
• Slide the paper-width guides inward until they stop at the edges of the paper.

Print the Alignment Page

Initiate Alignment:

• From the Home screen on the printer display, select Tools.
• Touch Align Printer and follow the on-screen instructions.
• The printer will print an alignment page.
