Hi @Magnolia87

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.

here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

Check Cartridge Installation:

  • Make sure the new ink cartridge is installed correctly. Remove the cartridge and reseat it to ensure it’s properly connected.

Remove Protective Tape:

  • Ensure that any protective tape or plastic covering the ink cartridge’s contact points has been removed.

Check Ink Levels:

  • Verify that the printer recognizes the new cartridge and check the ink levels. Sometimes, the printer may not register a new cartridge immediately.

Clear Print Queue:

  • On your computer, go to Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, and select See what’s printing. Cancel any stuck print jobs.

Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool. It can help diagnose and fix printing issues.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Make sure your printer drivers are up to date. You can check for updates on the HP support website.

Restart Printer and Computer:

  • Restart both your printer and your computer. This can sometimes clear any temporary issues.

Perform a Print Test:

  • Try printing a test page from the printer’s control panel to see if the issue is with the computer or the printer itself.

Check Connections:

  • Ensure that the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer if you're using a wireless connection. If using USB, make sure the cable is securely connected.

Factory Reset (if necessary):

  • As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset on the printer. Refer to the printer's manual or HP support website for instructions on how to do this.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thanks for trying to help.  Nothing worked,  This printer is only one year old. It can copy, but very poor quality with the copies. But unable to print documents from my computer.I have had three previous HP printers, but this will be my last one.  i will discard this one  and purchase another brand.

Thanks again for your effort.

I contacted the HP support and explained my problem. The technician asked for the printer serial number which I gave him. He stated that he needed to talk to his resources department and asked me to stay on the phone line which I did. After being on the line for 42 minutes and him not returning I gave up. Obviously I was not impressed with this treatment and got no help for resolving my printer problem.
