my used officejet 3830 has the instant ink 63/302.   I ordered a 63xL and it is way fatter.   Cant find a 63.302 anywhere online.  Is HP forcing me to subscribe to "instant ink? "

I understand you have a new 63XL, which does not fit the device. To help you better, could you please share the image of the cartridge, and could you elaborate on the issue for better understanding?

Please help us with the Printer serial number or the product number in a private message for further assistance.
