HP Recommended

I have had this printer 14 months and have printed less than half a ream of paper. The Ink levels are barely used!

It shows "Tri-Colour printhead appears to be missing" - it isn't. I have tried all the suggest methods of re-installing, cleaning, new printhead, factory reset but the problem persists. HP say I should simply buy a new printer (won't be a HP if I do buy a new one!) but I think that there should be a solution to this issue rather than throwing away a printer. 

 

Can anly one help please?
