Searching the forum this question I find it was asked before, but without resolution.  It appears the tray is not removable.   So, how did you fit it into the box for return?   Does HP have a solution?

Hi,

The input tray extender can be removed, it have 2 pins at both sides to release it.

I were not able to locate any video but the following post by seems quite detailed and clear with the instructions to remove the tray extended:

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printers-Archive-Read-Only/HP-7610-wide-format-all-in-one-printer-disa...

Please let me know if it works, if not I will try making some video once having access to the printer tomorrow.

Cheers,

Shlomi

In trying to return a defective HP 7612 Officejet Printer I need to remove the  input tray so tha I can package the device safely. How can I do this together with the receiving tray?

The instructions worked, even working by yourself. I found it easier to work with the printer on its side.
