HP OfficeJet Pro 8028 All-in-One Printer

HAVE ALREADY RESET THE PRINTER (PULL PLUG, CONNECTION TO PRINTER, ETC) ONLY FIXES TEMPORARILY.

ALSO KEEPS ASKING TO ALIGN PRINTHEAD, KEEPS SAYING SCAN IS CROOKED, AND RESET TO DEFAULTS.

Hi @8028_PRINSUCKS,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

To be able to answer you effectively, we need some information.

Have you made any changes to your printer software or hardware?

Update the drivers by selecting your current OS. Click here

It sounds like your HP printer 8020 All-in-One is consistently getting stuck on the "Checking Printer" phase whether you're trying to print or make a copy. This issue could be due to various reasons, but here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot:

Check Connections: Ensure that all cables connecting the printer to power and to your computer (if applicable) are securely plugged in.

Clear Print Queue: If there are any pending print jobs in the print queue, clear them. Sometimes, a stuck print job can cause issues with further printing or copying.

Reset Printing System (Mac): If you're using a Mac, you can reset the printing system. Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, right-click in the printer list, and select "Reset printing system." Note that this will remove all printers from your list, so you'll need to re-add your printer afterward.

Check for Paper Jams or Hardware Issues: Open the printer and check for any paper jams or obstructions that might be causing the printer to stall.

As a last resort, you might consider performing a reset on your printer. This will revert the printer settings to their default state. However, be aware that this will erase any custom settings you've configured.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instructions to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Support Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
