I have replaced ink cartridges, cleaned print heads, unplugged and re plugged/reset and I still get the same error. Replacing the printer head is as expensive as purchasing a new printer.

I have had the printer for 3 years and have already invested $150. 00 in ink cartridge replacements .

Does anyone know if replacing the Printhead actually works?

Thank You,

Are you using HP inks?  If you have had this printer for 3 years and have never replaced the printhead, then there is a good chance a new printhead will resolve your problem.  My experience with this model says its a crap shoot.  I have replaced the printhead with success.  Other times, I had to replace the printer. Most of our 8610 printers were on a maintenance contract. When we factored in the labor cost and cost of supplies, it was cheaper for us to replace printer.  Check Ebay for printhead.
