I have an 8610 printer that has been working fine until I updated the firmware yesterday. Now I get a "Problem with Ink System" error. I ran through the suggested steps (reseating the cartridges, rebooting the printer, wiggling the printhead carrier, but still get the same error. How come the updated firmware has it now throwing this error?

Hello,
It seems that you have tried all the possible steps and now we are left with only 2 options ...
- replace the Printhead .
- its time to go for a new printer.

I did all of those steps except replace all of the ink cartridges. I am not ready to go out and spend $100 on new ink cartridges only to find out it didn't fix the problem. I can buy a new printer for that much (and it won't be an HP).
