Hi:

When my paper level in the tray gets low (roughly between 1/4" & 3/8"), the printer starts pulling multiple sheets. So instead of printing all on 1 page, it prints over 2 or 3 pages, wasting paper and ink.

This multiple-page pull only occurs when the paper level is low. It pulls normally until then. I've tried playing with the adjustment that makes the sheets flush. That will work for a couple sheets, then the problem starts again.

I'm using 50# offset paper, but can't tell you the brand as I work remotely and my company supplies it. I can ask if thgat's important.

Can anyone solve this frustration?

Does the part that raises the paper in the tray function correctly, it should not be loose or fail to raise all the way up when empty?

There is a spring mechanism at the front of the tray, but that has just 2 settings: horizontal and a 45-degree angle when a latch is released (for printing postcards, maybe? I've never used it).

My paper level never raises to be flush with the intake. It stays fully horizontal, with the height of the paper level diminishing over time and remaining at the bottom of the tray.

The problem starts when the paper level is about an 1" below the intake. Hope that helps.
