Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The latest printer update (May 2019) has made it so that I can't use 3rd party printer cartridges.  This is a big problem for me.  Please give me a way to do a work-around or remove the latest update.

I ran into the same issue requiring me to return over $100 worth of third party cartridges, receiving only a partial refund because it was not realized an update occurred until after trying to replace my depleted ink cartridges. This has increased my ink costs by $200 in the last 2-3 months because there are months where I print more than 3,000 sheets of paper. 

 

I also, do not feel comfortable that HP's chosen response to ANY of these threads is someone is going to email you directly. It appears there is something to hide from the public. HP does have an existing law suite from this type of issue back in 2016.

You can refill your cartridges or use remanufactured cartridges, but you may run into problems. HP will not guarantee the functionality of those ink cartridges.

QualityLogic, one of the world's foremost quality assurance organizations, tested the performance of HP inkjet print cartridges vs. remanufactured (refilled) brands. The results: original HP inkjet print cartridges far surpassed ink refills in both print quality and reliability.

Nearly one out of every six refilled ink cartridges tested was dead on arrival or failed prematurely 70% of refilled cartridges had some form of reliability problem Count on HP original ink cartridges for consistent, worry-free printing.

You may think you're saving money on remanufactured or refilled ink cartridges, but in the long run, the cost of wasted time, ink, and paper can more than make up the difference.
