I am trying to replace the Black cartridge in my printer with a brand new cartridge. The replacement cartridge is HP 952 XL. I am getting the following error: Cartridge Problem "Remove and reinstall the indicated cartridge, making sure it is correctly installed". I have tried everything that I can find on the internet, to no avail. It recognizes the old cartridge when I put it back in, but won't recognize this brand new one. I'm at a loss here.

This is a case of a defective new ink.
You could either return/replace it to the store/website you purchased it from or contact the HP Support Team regarding this.
