printer keeps giving me this message  "printer cannot connect to web services server" and asks to connect - when I hit the connect soft button it fails it then asks to connect via a manual proxy server input.  Wires have been checked and reinstalled - printer rebooted - internet is working fine to our 2 computers.

Welcome to HP forums, I see that you are getting "printer cannot connect to web services server" error.

Turn on Web Services from the Embedded Web Server (EWS)

  • Print a Network Configuration Page.
  • Print the page from the Wireless, Network Settings or Setup menu.
  • On the Network Configuration Page, locate the URL(s) for Embedded Web Server address.
  • On your computer, open an Internet browser.
  • Type the URL address for the EWS in the browser address bar, and then press Enter.
  •  NOTE: Make sure to type the IP address into the Internet browser's address box. If typed into a toolbar search box or search engine, the EWS does not open.

  • If a website security certificate displays in the Internet browser, click Continue.
  • The EWS webpage for the printer opens, which confirms that the printer is on the same network as the computer.
  • On the EWS webpage, click the Web Services tab.
  • On the Web Services Setup page, click Continue, Turn On, or Enable, and then follow the on-screen instructions
  • Figure : Example of clicking Continue
  • Example of clicking Continue.

sorry for being so long getting back to this but knee surgery has put a big delay in everyhting.  Ive tried to use the data on getting to the Embedded web Services but do not get much beyond that.  I have 3 screen shots Id like to upload so you can see what Im seeing - How do I do that?

The first screen shot would show I get to the embedded web serices page  and when I click on Web Services I get a message its Redirecting me to a secure page

when I click OK on that i receive the following

This site is not secure

This might mean that someone’s trying to fool you or steal any info you send to the server. You should close this site immediately.

I did see a page that said the system thinks one of the certificates is not valid

I have no idea what to do as it worked for weeks and this just came up prior to my original message.

thanks

Mike
