Operating System: macOS 10.15 Catalina

have had the 8600 printer for years, and always bought HP cartridges.  I use the HP 950 XL and they have always worked fine.  I recently got an error message “Missing print head” and am trying to fix.  I removed the print head and am cleaning it as instructed... but can’t reinsert the ink cartridges.  Ideas?

HP Recommended

Finished cleaning and reinstalled print head.  950 XL cartridges won’t go back into print head
