Product: M980A

Good Morning 

 

I have an office jet Pro 8720, Model M980A, Serial [edited] that was purchased in Europe. 

The printer is stated as using the following ink cartridges 

CMY 953, 953XL 

K       953, 953XL, 957XL 

 

 

We were informed that the 952XL cartriges purchased in the US are compatible if the region on the printer is changed to US. 


I have tried this and only reiced the Error message "The Indicated Cartridges are not intended for use in this printer" 

 

Can you please confirm if there is a step we have missed or if these are incompatible.

Hi Lee,

Where are you located, in Europe or in the US?

 

You may contact HP to reset the printer to a different region if you moved with the printer, not to a different country than yours, in order to allow the printer to accept cartridges for another country you must contact HP support to configure the printer for a such.
