@Sarah527, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

When your HP DeskJet 2700 printer displays multiple flashing lights—such as the power button light blinking white, and the information, ink alert, and control panel lights blinking red—it indicates various issues that might require attention. Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot these blinking lights:

Common Reasons for Blinking Lights

Ink Cartridge Issues:

  • The ink alert light blinking often suggests there is a problem with one or both ink cartridges. This could be due to a cartridge being incompatible, low on ink, or inserted improperly.
  • Solution: Remove the cartridges, check for any protective tape or obstruction, and ensure they are seated correctly. Replace any problematic or empty cartridges.

Wireless Connection Errors:

  • Blinking wireless and Wi-Fi Direct icons indicate connectivity problems.
  • Solution: Ensure the printer is close enough to the router (1 to 1.5 meters is recommended). Reset the printer's network settings and reconnect it to your wireless network. Use the printer's control panel or software setup wizard to guide you through reconnecting.

Paper Jam or Paper Tray Issues:

  • The paper error icon suggests that there may be no paper in the tray or a paper jam.
  • Solution: Load paper into the tray, clear any obstructions, and make sure the paper size matches the settings on your device.

Power and Error Lights:

  • A blinking power light often indicates that the printer is turning off or on, or is processing a task.
  • Solution: Ensure all doors are properly closed and there's no obstruction. Try resetting the printer by unplugging it, waiting for about 60 seconds, and then plugging it back in.

For detailed instructions with illustrations on error lights and codes, refer to the HP DeskJet 2700 Blinking Lights and Error Codes Guide.

I hope this helps.

Thank you for responding. I check for jam papers and there was none, I removed the colored ink cartridge and it was still blinking. I also remove the paper from the tray and unplug the cord and waited for 60mins but nothing has been resolved. Don't know what else to do.

Let's perform the following steps:

Restart the Printer

  2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  3. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  4. Wait for 60 seconds and connect the power cord back in.
  5. Turn on the printer.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows only):
