HP OfficeJet Pro 7720 Wide Format All-in-One Printer

I have replaced the empty black cartridge and it says if message reappears again record the message and contact support.

Well the message came straight back up. I've disconnected to reset but it's still there.

Help!

Hi @And121,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like there might be an issue with the printer's supply system beyond just the cartridge. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem,

  • Check for any obstructions: Make sure there are no paper jams or any other physical obstructions inside the printer that could be causing the issue.
  • Inspect the cartridge installation: Ensure that the cartridge is installed correctly and securely. Sometimes, improper installation can trigger error messages.
  • Clean the contacts: Clean the electrical contacts on both the cartridge and inside the printer with a lint-free cloth or cotton swab lightly dampened with distilled water. This can help ensure proper communication between the cartridge and the printer.
  • Restart the printer: Disconnect the power cord from the printer and wait for about 60 seconds. Then, plug it back in and turn the printer on again. This can sometimes reset the printer and clear temporary errors.
  • Update firmware and drivers: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer on the HP website. Also, make sure you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
