HP Smart Tank 7602 All-in-One

I can print from my cell phone, but most days, I cannot print from my laptop.  I have done all trouble shooting from multiple platforms and still having issues.  The HP smart app will show the printer "ready", "asleep" , or sometimes "offline".  Please help!

I understand your HP Smart Tank 7602 is having intermittent connectivity issues with your laptop. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

 

1. Check Printer and Network Connections:

  • Ensure Printer is Connected: Confirm that your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your laptop.
  • Printer Status: Ensure the printer is not in an "offline" or "sleep" mode when you attempt to print. If it’s asleep, wake it up by pressing any button on the printer.

2. Restart Devices:

  • Restart Printer: Turn off the printer, wait a minute, and then turn it back on.
  • Restart Laptop: Restart your laptop to refresh network settings and connections.
  • Restart Router: Restart your router to ensure a stable network connection.

3. Update Drivers and Software: HP Smart Tank 7602 All-in-One Software and Driver

  • Update Printer Drivers: Ensure you have the latest drivers installed for your HP Smart Tank 7602. You can download them from the HP Support website.
  • Update HP Smart App: Make sure you’re using the latest version of the HP Smart app.

4. Reinstall Printer:

  • Remove and Add Printer: In the HP Smart app, remove the printer from the list of devices and then add it again. Follow the setup prompts to reconnect the printer.
  • Reinstall Software: Uninstall and then reinstall the HP Smart app and any associated printer software on your laptop.

5. Check Firewall and Security Software:

  • Firewall Settings: Ensure that your firewall or antivirus software isn’t blocking the printer or the HP Smart app. Temporarily disable the firewall to see if it resolves the issue.

6. Use Windows Troubleshooter:

  • Run Troubleshooter: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters > Printer, and run the troubleshooter to detect and fix printing issues.

7. Check for Network Issues:

  • IP Address Conflict: Ensure there are no IP address conflicts on your network. Assign a static IP address to your printer if necessary.
  • Wi-Fi Signal: Ensure that your Wi-Fi signal is strong and stable where your printer is located.

8. Check Printer Status on Laptop:

  • Printer Queue: Make sure there are no stuck print jobs in the queue. Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, find your printer, right-click and select See what's printing. Clear any pending jobs.
