After the printer boots up it goes to a blue screen with the error code B80B746C. All of the lights start flashing and the power button does not work. After restart the same thing happens. Please provide instructions on how to do a factory reset from this condition.

Hi @JackieMB1968

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code B80B746C on your HP printer indicates a serious issue, possibly related to hardware or firmware. Performing a factory reset might help, but given the symptoms you're describing, the printer may not respond to standard reset commands.

Here are some steps you can try to perform a reset, but please note that a complete factory reset may not be possible in this state:

Steps to Attempt a Reset:

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Unplug the printer from the power source.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and try turning it on.

Hard Reset:

  • While the printer is off, press and hold the Power button.
  • While holding the power button, plug the printer back into the outlet.
  • Continue to hold the power button for about 15 seconds, then release it.

Factory Reset via Control Panel (if accessible):

  • If the printer allows you to navigate the menu despite the error:
    • Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore Factory Defaults.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
