HP ENVY 6032 All-In-One Printer

While printing from iPad (IOS 17)  to my Envy 6032 All in One it regularly prints 2 or 3 extra copies of the same document after the first (requested) one is complete. This is a new issue, did not start until a couple of months ago.

Hi @Robertsonal,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds frustrating to deal with extra copies printing from your iPad. This issue with extra copies being printed through AirPrint can be caused by several factors, including settings on your iPad, the printer itself, or a temporary glitch. Here’s a structured approach to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the problem:

1. Check Printer Settings

Printer Settings on the Device:

  • Access the printer’s settings via its control panel or web interface.
  • Look for any settings related to print quantity or copy settings and ensure they are set correctly.

Reset Printer:

  • Perform a power cycle or factory reset on your HP Envy 6032 to clear any erroneous settings:
    • Power Cycle: Turn off the printer, unplug it for about 1 minute, and then turn it back on.
    • Factory Reset: Navigate to the settings menu on the printer and select “Restore Defaults” or “Factory Reset” if available.

2. Check iPad Settings

Update iOS:

  • Ensure your iPad is running the latest version of iOS. Go to Settings > General > Software Update and install any available updates.

Update Apps:

  • Ensure that any apps you are using to print (e.g., Pages, Mail) are also updated to the latest version.

Check Print Settings:

  • When you go to print from your iPad, tap Options or Print Options to check if there are settings for the number of copies. Make sure the number of copies is set to 1.

Delete and Re-add Printer:

  • Go to Settings > Wi-Fi, tap the (i) icon next to your network, and then Forget the network.
  • Restart your iPad and printer.
  • Reconnect your iPad to the Wi-Fi network and re-add the printer.

3. Update or Reinstall Printer Firmware

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Visit the HP Support website or use the HP Smart app to check for and install any available firmware updates for your HP Envy 6032.

Reinstall Printer:

  • If the issue persists, reinstall the printer firmware:
    • Download Firmware: Visit HP’s official website to download the latest firmware for your model.
    • Install Firmware: Follow the instructions provided to update the firmware.

4. Test with Different Apps

Try Different Apps:

  • Test printing from different apps on your iPad to see if the problem is specific to one app.

Print from Another Device:

  • Print a document from another device (e.g., a computer) using AirPrint to see if the problem persists. This can help determine if the issue is with the iPad or the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
