HP Envy 4504
iOS 12 - 12.0.1

Hi,

I have a Netgear Nighthawk X6 R8000 router. I have a Netgear R6120 router connected to it by ethernet cable with Access Point mode enabled.

I have a HP Envy 4504 wireless Airprinter.

When the printer connects to the wifi signal from the R8000 (or the R6120 is turned off) everything works fine - my iOS devices give the HP Envy as an option amongst the Airprinters. However, when the printer connects to the wifi signal from the R6120, then the printer is not available as an option from by iOS device. The problem is solved by turning off the R6120 and allowing the printer to connect to the R8000. However, I need the R6120 on to have complete wifi coverage.

I also have a Raspberry Pi configured as an Airprint server and that has no problems when connected to the R6120. I therefore suspect this may be an HP problem, rather than a Netgear problem.

I hope someone will be able to help.

N.B. All of my devices are fully up to date in terms of firmware etc.

A warm welcome to HP Support Community!

Does the R8000 and R6120 have different channels?

Have you tried updating the R6120 firmware?

Could you also check if R6120 has AP isolation or wireless isolation enabled.
