Hi
I can print a test page perfectly with all colours showing.
I print an alignment page after instlaling genuine HP cartridges and there is no yellow or green shown,
Obviously scanning this leads to the printing colours being incorrect.
Any suggestions?

It looks like you were interacting with @DavidSMP, but he is out for the day & I'll be glad to help you out.
Resetting the mac printing system and re-adding the printer may resolve the issue, let's try these steps:
1.) Click the Apple menu, and then click System Preferences.
2.) Click Printers & Scanners, Print & Scan, or Print & Fax.
3.) Right-click (or Control + click) anywhere inside the Printers window, and then click Reset printing system.
4.) Click Reset or OK.
5.) Click the Add button, click the name of your printer.
6.) Click the Use or Print Using box, and then select the name of your printer. Once the correct HP driver is chosen, select Add to add the printer to the list.
7.) Try to print.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Good Day. Thank you for taking an interest in the HP community. I will be glad to assist you and let’s get right to it. Terrific diagnosis of the issue. It is amply appreciated.
- Did you update the printer’s firmware and check again?
- Did you run all mac updates?
- Is it a wireless or USB connection?
I will be providing a roadmap with some troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue. Let us try these steps:
- Run all the latest Mac OS updates and ensure that the most current OS updates are installed on the MacBook.
- Perform a hard reset on the printer from this link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/product/hp-ink-tank-wireless-410-series/16180953/model/16180954/documen... perform steps from the section “Step 1: Reset the printer"
- Then update the printer’s firmware by following instructions from this link: https://support.hp.com/bg-en/document/c02919168 via a USB cable.
Then make 2 photocopies in color directly from the printer without any communication from the Mac.
- If it copies in color correctly then follow relevant steps to delete the printer and add it again from this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-photosmart-c4600-all-in-one-printer-series/3739148/model/373... (HP Printers - Printer is Offline (Mac)
- follow instructions from these sections:
- Step 3: Remove multiple printers from the printer list
- Step 4: Delete the existing print queue and add the printer
- Select the name of your printer that gets listed and make sure not to add it as Apple AirPrint as this printer does not support Apple AirPrint.
This printer does not support Apple AirPrint according to this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-photosmart-c4600-all-in-one-printer-series/3739148/model/373... (HP Printers - Mobile Printing Solutions Compatible with HP Printers)
This should fix the issue for you.
Good luck and keep me posted about the developments. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue and give the post a Kudos for my efforts to help. Thank you and have a great week ahead. 🙂

I'm afraid this didn't work.
I can't update the printer's firmware as I can't find a driver to update despite checking hp and hp.123.
Mac up to date.
USB connection.
Colour photocopy perfect.
so still stuck...
Thanks so much for the detailed help though.. I folllowed the instructions as far as possible...
