HP Smart Tank 750 All-in-One

Hi I just used my Printer to copy this morning and left it on. 

 

A few hours later I see all the buttons are just flashing. I switched it off and back on but it is till doing the same thing.

 

What could be the cause? How do I sort this out? 🙏🏿

1. Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and wait for about 1-2 minutes.
  • Plug the power cord back in and turn the printer on.

This can help reset the printer’s internal system and may resolve minor glitches.

2. Check for Paper Jams:

  • Carefully inspect the paper feed area for any paper jams or obstructions.
  • Open the front cover and look for any paper stuck in the ink carriage or the paper path.
  • If you find a jam, gently remove it, being careful not to tear the paper or damage any components.

3. Check the Ink Cartridges:

  • Open the ink cartridge access door and ensure that all the ink cartridges are properly seated.
  • If the cartridges are not in place, or if there’s any visible issue like a leaking or damaged cartridge, replace it.
  • You might also want to check the ink levels and make sure they're sufficient.

4. Check the Printer’s Display:

  • Look at the printer’s display for any error messages or prompts that could indicate what’s wrong.
  • Some printers will show error codes that can help diagnose the issue.

5. Reset the Printer:

If nothing else works, try resetting the printer to its default factory settings:

  • Reset through the Printer’s Menu: If your printer has a touch screen, you may find a reset option in the "Settings" menu. Look for an option like "Restore Defaults" or "Factory Reset."
  • Reset using the HP Smart App: If you have the HP Smart app installed on your smartphone or computer, open the app and try to reset the printer through the app's settings.

6. Update or Reinstall the Printer Driver:

  • Sometimes, a flashing light can indicate a driver issue. Go to HP's official support website and download the latest drivers for your printer.
  • After updating or reinstalling the drivers, check if the issue persists.

7. Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. If the printer is connected to Wi-Fi, it may be able to update its firmware automatically. Otherwise, you can manually download the firmware from the HP website and follow the instructions.
