Hi,
I have a HP Envy Photo 6220 printer and this morning when I go to print any document, word, pdf, photo etc it prints three pages, two with a couple a small emojis and one that has just fuzzy dark lines.
I had been trying to make my printer more secure after a neighbour printed something to it yesterday, but I fear I have accidentally messed something up!
Any help greatly appreciated.

I understand your HP Envy Photo 6220 is printing emoji pages and fuzzy lines instead of your actual documents, especially after you changed some settings to make the printer more secure. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.
Restart the printer and your laptop
– Power off the printer and unplug it for 60 seconds.
– Restart your laptop as well.
– This clears any corrupted print data stuck in the queue.
Clear the print queue
– On your laptop, go to Printers & Scanners → select your HP Envy 6220 → Open Print Queue → cancel all jobs.
– Corrupted jobs often cause random symbols, emojis, or blank lines to print.
Reconnect the printer with the correct driver
– Remove the printer from your laptop (Printers & Scanners → Remove).
– Add it again, and make sure it uses HP Envy Photo 6200 series driver and not “Generic/Text Only.”
– The wrong driver can cause garbled output.
Print a test page from the printer itself
– On the printer menu → Settings → Printer Maintenance → Print Test Page.
– If the test page prints normally, the issue is with the computer connection or driver.
Reset the Wi-Fi connection on the printer
– Go to Wireless Settings → Restore Network Settings.
– Reconnect to your home Wi-Fi using your own network password.
– This ensures only your devices can send print jobs.
Disable Wi-Fi Direct if you don’t need it
– Wireless Settings → Wi-Fi Direct → Turn Off.
– This prevents neighbors from connecting directly to your printer.
