HP Smart Tank 5106 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

All the lights on my HP Smart Tank 5106 printer are flashing.  Tried using HP Smart app Help & Support as well as HP Print and Scan Doctor but printer cannot be "found" by either of these troubleshooting apps. Problem remains the same whether trying to connect using WiFi or via USB direct connection to laptop - USB cable has been replaced but no change, issue remains.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

 

I see that you are facing an issue with your Printer that has blinking lights.

A) Please follow the steps below to perform a power drain.

 

 1) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

2) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.

3) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.

4) Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Power on the printer

 

B) Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware and let me know if that resolves the issue.

 

C) If the issue still persists, refer to the steps on this link to further troubleshoot.

Hi Irwin6, thank you for responding to my post asking for assistance with my HP Smart Tank 5106 printer problem.

 

I've followed all your instructions but unfortunately, they were unsuccessful in resolving the issue. All the printer's lights are continuing to flash and the printer cannot be "found".
