All was well and then i wanted to scan a document.
Instead of getting my scanner screen i was gettinga message " allow app to make changes" then it directed me to hook up a new printer.
I ran test from computerr and was able to print a test page to printer and the scanner. it will print from mobile devices.
I purchased it in august 2016, the HP product scan says it was out of warranty in Jan 2017, ( thats short a year)
Thank you
Dan

As we have completely understood your issue you want to disallow the app to make changes:
- From the Start menu, Select Control Panel
- Navigate to System and Security > Action Center
- From the left pane, Select Change User Account Control settings
- Drag the scroll button to Never notify
- Click on OK to save your settings.

the app message is for device setup.
yesterday i loaded the current drivers and used the original disc to confirm all settings were installed.
I ran the HP print and scan tool and tat worked.
Strangest thing.
this happedned a few other times and it went away when i changed ink cartridge and/or restarted the computer.
i have ran the HP tools to test, driver updates and rebooted manty times. Very Frustrating and i just really wantred to tell HP that i want a credit and upgrade printers. thia printer has been a challenge and probaly a lemon.
Thanks
Dan
