HP ENVY 6055e All-in-One Printer

An E0 error indicates an unusable cartridge/s, but both cartridges have been replaced with HP cartridges. Made sure that no dirt, debris or dust is present. I have reset the printer, updated the software and still I continue to get this code. I'm perplexed and frustrated!!

Hi @Myspice,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It's frustrating to encounter errors despite troubleshooting steps. Here are a few additional steps you can take to try and resolve the E0 error on your HP ENVY 6055e All-In-One Printer.

  • Check Cartridge Installation: Ensure that the cartridges are properly installed. Sometimes, a cartridge might not be fully inserted or locked in place, causing the printer to detect it as unusable.
  • Clean Cartridge Contacts: Even though the cartridges are new, there might be some residue on the contacts preventing proper communication with the printer. Gently clean the contacts on both the cartridges and inside the printer with a lint-free cloth or cotton swab lightly dampened with distilled water.
  • Inspect Cartridge and Printer Contacts: Look for any physical damage or irregularities on both the cartridge and printer contacts.
  • Update Firmware: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up-to-date. Sometimes, firmware updates include fixes for cartridge recognition issues.
  • Try Different Cartridges: While it's unlikely, there could be a defect with one or both of the cartridges. If possible, try using different cartridges to see if the error persists.

By going through these steps, you should be able to either resolve the issue or narrow down the potential causes.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
