HP OfficeJet Pro 8720
macOS 10.12 Sierra

I had an 8600 that died after two years so I purchased an 8720 as a replacement. On the 8600 the printer showed as a printer option and all was good. The 8720 does not show. I have printed the HP Network Configuration Page and the Network is ‘Ready’, Active Connection Type ‘Wireless’, Internet ‘Connected’, etc. The 8720 prints wirelessly from my Mac desktop and laptop – just not the iPads or iPod. When I go to print, it comes up and asks for the printer and when I click that option I get the message ‘No AirPrint Printers Found’. I have done the normal suggested trouble shooting of shutting down and restarting the router, the iPads, the iPod, all several times and still no printer shows.

I have downloaded the AiO Remote app thinking that ‘possibly’ it was needed, but when I click on that it shows the 8720, so if it can find the connection where is my problem?

Thanks,

Jerry

I understand that you have issues with AirPrint, and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.

AirPrint is a mobile printing solution included with the Apple iOS v4.2 and later mobile operating systems.

Print from an iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch over a wireless network to your HP printer.

Thanks.  This is the part that I had not done and it solved the problem.

  1. Click the Settings tab.
  2. Click Security, and then click Administrator Settings.
  3. Under Network Settings, select AirPrint, if it is not already selected, and then click Apply.
