Any time I print a document, the printer prints one final extra page that only says PDF in the upper left corner.  It doesn't matter whether it is a PDF, a word document, or even the test page for the printer, it still prints this page that only says PDF. It has only started in the last few days, so I presume something has updated, but I'm not sure what would change to make the printer print this extra page.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to assist you.

I see that you are facing an issue with your HP product.

To understand the issue and help you, please share the details listed below:

Note: Do not share any of your personal information such as serial number, phone number, email ID, etc., on your public post.

- Exact model number/product number(SKU number) of your HP Product (Click here for information on how to find the model number/product number).

- Error messages (if any) on the unit.

- When was the last time it was working fine?

- Were there any changes made to your PC recently?

Could you please elaborate the issue in detail?

In the meantime you may try these steps:

To diagnose this issue, try to copy a document. If copy works fine this may be a software issue.

To fix this issue try the steps below. Use the method below to remove all existing print drivers installed on your PC:
1.) In Windows, search for and open Apps & features.
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Printers &Scanners
5.) In the Printers &Scanners windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
Once the drivers are removed, to download and install the software and driver : Click here

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
