I'm trying to print a cover and I've tried multiple HP paper types...matte, glossy, photo...I've set the printer settings for each photo and while the colors are very nice, any solid black are coming out a little washed out. Comparing my print with the original, the colors are fine except for the black. I've tried RGB and CMYK.
Am I missing something? I just want the black to come out a nice dark black instead of somewhat washed out...its not terrible but its not the dark black it should be.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Are your copies in black printing well?
Let me know if you the black prints well on this report:
a. Load letter or A4 unused plain white paper into the paper tray. b. From the printer control panel, touch Setup. c. Touch Reports. d. Touch Print Quality Report
Follow these steps to clean the ink cartridges from the printer control panel.
NOTE:To avoid issues that require cleaning, always turn the printer off with the Power button.
-
Load U.S. letter or A4 size, unused, plain white paper into the input tray.
-
On the printer control panel, swipe the display to the left, and then touch Setup
.
The Setup menu displays.
-
Swipe the display up, and then touch Printer Maintenance.
-
Touch Clean Cartridges.
A Print Quality Diagnostic report prints.
-
Examine the Print Quality Diagnostic report.
-
If the print quality is unacceptable, touch Proceed when prompted to continue the next level of cleaning. Repeat these steps for the third cleaning stage, if necessary.
NOTE:
If the printhead is badly clogged, it might require another cleaning cycle. If so, wait 30 minutes before you perform all three levels of cleaning again.
-
Try changing the black ink cartridge.
Let me know if this helps.
