I'd like to use HP C6602A cartridges for a home-built printer project, and would like to know if the ink is dye or pigment based? Thanks!

Thanks Bob! Any idea if this cartridge could be outiftted for a continuous ink system?

I have not taken apart a c6602a cartridge and do not know what form of back pressure control they use.  Based on appearance I would suspect it is a foam based system and that it would not be difficult to make a CIS work.  As with any CIS setup  a challenge is to provide ink at the proper negative pressure to prevent ink from dribbling out the nozzles when not printing.  I would expect you would want the ink level in the reservoir to be about 0.5" - 1" below the level of the  nozzles.  You will also want some form of priming system to keep air out of the plumbing.
