During a print process the printer provided me with the message that the black-cartridge is not working anymore. Replacing the cartrigde with a formal HP-cartridge didn't help. Also cleaning etc. didn't help.

Printing with only the color-cartridge works.

I think that the print-head died . Any other suggestions to try ?

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Step 1: Make sure that the cartridges are compatible

Step 2: Hard reset the printer

1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

2. Wait at least 60 seconds.

3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
