After several hours the printer stops responding to all print jobs; and appears to be offline to all my devices. At the printer the control panel is black and will not respond to touch. However, the power and wifi lights are fully light up. I have tried several other things but what I usually end up doing is unplugging the printer and re-plugging it back in to reset it.  I have already replaced the printer once, so I am wondering now if this is something I am missing on how its supposed to operate.

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I understand that your HP printer is not working correctly, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Did you make any changes to the settings of your Printer prior to the issue?
  • When was the last time it worked fine?
  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update?

Let's try these steps to resolve the issue:

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Remove USB cable, if present.
  • Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
  • Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer and wait till the warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
