Hi @KD8004 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Product. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.
I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're experiencing with your HP Officejet 4620 printer. Ink leaks can be messy and frustrating, but there are steps you can take to clean it up. Here's what you can do:
- Unplug the printer: Safety first! Disconnect the printer from the power outlet to avoid any electrical hazards.
- Grab gloves and disposable cloths: Ink can stain, so wear gloves to protect your hands. Use disposable cloths or paper towels to soak up any remaining ink.
Cleaning the accessible areas:
Remove the cartridges and printhead (if possible): Refer to your HP Officejet 4620 user manual or search online for instructions on how to remove the ink cartridges and printhead (if it's detachable on this model). This will give you better access to clean the interior.
Use lint-free cloths and cotton swabs: Avoid using paper towels as they can leave behind lint. Dampen lint-free cloths or cotton swabs with clean water and gently wipe away the ink. Don't scrub, as that could spread the ink further.
Dispose of Ink-Soaked Paper Towels: Dispose of paper towels or cloths properly soaked with ink to avoid any environmental hazards.
Inspect for Damage: After cleaning, carefully inspect the printer for any signs of damage or further ink leakage. Ensure that there are no loose components or damaged parts.
Allow to Dry: Allow the printer to air dry completely before attempting to reinstall the ink cartridges and power it on.
Test the Printer: Once everything is cleaned and dry, reinstall the ink cartridges and power on the printer. Perform a test print to check if the printer is functioning properly.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
