Please help me talk to an actual tech support person to fix my officejet 4620.  Black ink will not print.  Web services no longer enabled to update firmware.  Have $130 in ink I can't use at this point unless someone helps me.

Hi @lulusenora,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Officejet 4620 E-All-In-One Printer is experiencing issues with black ink not printing and the web services are not enabled to update firmware, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot the problem.

Check Ink Levels:

  • Make sure that the black ink cartridge has sufficient ink. You can check the ink levels through the printer software on your computer or directly on the printer's control panel.

Clean Printhead:

  • The printhead may be clogged, preventing the black ink from flowing. Most printers have a printhead cleaning utility in the software. Run the printhead cleaning process to clear any clogs.

Align Printhead:

  • Perform a printhead alignment. This ensures that the nozzles are properly aligned for optimal print quality. This option is usually available in the printer software.

Manually Clean Printhead:

  • If the automatic cleaning doesn't resolve the issue, you may need to manually clean the printhead. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to do this properly.

Replace Ink Cartridge:

  • If the ink cartridge is old or has expired, it may not be providing the best print quality. Consider replacing the black ink cartridge with a new one.

Update Firmware (if possible):

  • If web services are not enabled, you can try updating the firmware manually. Visit the official HP support website, locate your printer model, and download the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions provided by HP to install the firmware.

Check for Software Updates:

  • Ensure that your printer software on the computer is up-to-date. Sometimes, software updates can address printing issues. Visit the official HP website and download the latest drivers and software for your printer.

Enable Web Services:

  • If possible, enable web services on your printer. This can usually be done through the printer's control panel or settings menu. Once web services are enabled, you may be able to update the firmware automatically.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
