Photosmart e all in one series
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am constantly buying print cartledges because of the black ink. I use the XL564....all but the black ink is 3/4 full if not more. This happen the last time and I replace every cartledge and lo and behold it's happened again. I have not printed 100 pages and even less the last time. I do not print photo's.  This is more than becoming a money issue , I am about to toss this thing out, just can't aford it anymore.  Any suggestions as to why this keeps happening.  I also make sure when that i have a good expiration date.  Comments are more then welcome.

You mentioned you use grayscale option. Did you know to print grayscale printer will mix all colors including the narrower black (called Photo black) to print. If you wish to print B&W only and use fatter/wider black you need to tell your printer. Please try (for Windows):

(a) Double click printer icon on desktop,
(b) Click Set Preferences,
(c) Click Advanced,
(d) Select "Black Ink only" for Print in Grayscale
(e) Click Ok/Apply ...

Note: Printer still needs all color inks and it will consume a very small amount of inks during the warming up process.

Regards.

My printer is HP photosmart e-all-in-one series 7525, Model CZ045A#B1H.. Windows 10... and yes I have two black ink cartledges. It seems that the one on the right is the one that is using ink like crazy.
